Dr. Collins was raised in Southwest Florida, obtained his Bachelor Degree at the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) and his Medical Degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine (St. Louis, MO).
Following graduation from medical school he moved to Gainesville and completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida, followed by a year as Chief Resident at the Malcolm Randall VAMC. He completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Florida in 2005 and then joined the faculty of the Gastroenterology Division, focusing on endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic ablation of Barrett's esophagus, and capsule endoscopy, in addition to general Gastroenterology. For the last four years, he has served as Section Chief for Gastroenterology at the Malcolm Randall VAMC and Clinical Assistant Professor at UF Health.
Dr. Collins joined Digestive Disease Associates in September 2014.
